How do I prepare properly for renovation work?
Renovating doesn't start with demolition. First put your project on paper: it's your guiding thread, the full list of the work to be carried out. Bring in an architect to draw up the plans, which the contractors will need. Put together a mood board (Pinterest is a great ally) and set yourself a reasonable budget from the outset, based on the scope of the work planned.

What are the prices per square metre?
The size of the home strongly affects the price. As a guide: a light refresh runs from about €7,500 (30 m2) to €40,000 (80 m2); a full renovation from €21,000 to €88,000; a heavy renovation from €33,000 to €160,000. The price depends on the surface area, the condition of the home, the work to be carried out, the type of materials and the involvement of specialists.
How can I finance my renovation?
Several schemes exist to lighten the bill: MaPrimeRénov', the energy voucher, the éco-PTZ interest-free loan, the Anah grant and the energy-saving certificates (CEE). Look into them ahead of time: these grants can fund a significant share of energy renovation work.
